Notes: Did this just to try the post-function. Yes, yes I 'm still that insecure when it comes to use communities. The story was first written in Swedish, for fun, and then translated to English when I was forced to write a short story in high school (about 4 000 years ago). I think it sounds ridiculous because neither of the characters speak English really...I just think there is one that even KNEW English. Wasn't really working in Swedish either since most of the conversation is in French. But my French isn't better than Google Translate, so I wasn't going to try (and 4 000 years ago, there was no such thing).
Background and Summary: In 1784 the King of Sweden, Gustav III, came to Versailles, France, to establish a relationship with Louis XVI and France. With him was, among others, Axel von Fersen – count, diplomat and ladies man. Axel, though Swede as he was, was a part of Queen Marie Antoinette’s inner circle and he visited the French court more often than he did the Swedish.
This takes place during the first week of the Swedish stay at Versailles. Axel finds himself frustrated and annoyed by the overpopulation of Swedes and the charade of stiff etiquette and real politics he has to endure during the formal visit when all he wants to do is have carefree days in the Queen’s company.
