There are so many subtleties in the show that provide possible fodder for fanfic! We focus so much on the relationships btwn S/J and M/L that we miss some of these really interesting teasers. I'm so glad you decided to explore this bit of back story with John's family. It was really interesting, and I always enjoy some experimentation with form!
